Episode #3 features Mark “Rizzn” Hopkins of Mashable, who has recently begun a video podcast series on his personal site about all things Semantic Web, AI and robotics, with a healthy dose of ye olde social media thrown in for good measure;)
In the episode we start off by discussing the MSFT-Powerset acquisition, as well as the drunken revelry that inevitably ensued (paging Owen Thomas…) We then segue into talking about the state of AI, the relationship between AI and the Semantic Web (from both a programming and a marketing perspective), and where we are today with both, especially as compared to just 2-3 years ago.
Thanks to Mark Hopkins for being our guest, it was a great conversation, and we particularly appreciated his unique perspective as someone who knows the space intimately, but is coming back to it after somewhat of a hiatus, making for a really nice exercise in compare and contrast.

Thanks for listening!

Our very first podcast! It comes in at just over :30, so not for the faint of heart, hehe;)
We discuss a wide variety of topics, including our impressions coming out of last week’s Semantic Technology Conference, different semtech communities of practice, incremental value vs. blue ocean opportunities, overall expectations of users, the swing back to fundamentally upgrading the infrastructure of the Web, the vast number of up-and-coming stealthy semtech startups (and their chances), mainstream cultural references for artificial intelligence, how semantic technology is represented at various conferences, and how semtech will continue to come to market in the Fall and beyond.

Welcome to the home of the podcast series Falken’s Maze, produced by Carla Thompson (Guidewire Group), Mark Johnson (Powerset/MSFT) and Josh Dilworth (Porter Novelli). This is our little corner of the world where we discuss all things Semantic Web, from a (mostly) non-technical perspective.
The series grew out of our successful panel at the Semantic Technology Conference, titled “Taking Semantic Technology to the Masses.” Our goal here is simply to continue that discussion, as we found it to be very helpful in shaping our own thinking about these issues.
We’re planning to include special guests as often as possible. If you’re interested in participating, send Josh a line at joshua [dot] dilworth [at] gmail [dot] com. And if you’re interested in syndicating our work, we’re more than happy for you to do so, but please note that the content is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial 3.0 United States License (attribution required).
We’ll get this baby listed on iTunes too. In the meantime you can grab our feed here. Any other suggestions for distibution, please let us know!
